Description

Another weapon design haha, This one is a concept for mine and my sisters manga :)

This is also one of my first pieces in Photoshop CC 2015, had a fair bit of fun playing around with it haha :D,  I do feel like I have still a lot to learn about regarding shading and lighting as I'm not 100% happy with it, but its all part of the process I have to remind myself.

I am happy with the initial design work though haha :)

First impressions, looks cool as hell, and I like the idea of it separating into multiple blades
From a Realistic standpoint, I can say the same thing that is always said for large swords like this, and that is, this seems more like a paddle, it appears extremely heavy and cumbersome, and I would expect it to catch a lot of wind during the swing, slowing it down. Of course I have drawn swords like this before, so I don't exactly have much room to talk.
However,
From a Fantasy standpoint it is absolutely amazing. I love the idea of transformation when it comes to any type of weapon, which may be the reason I'm such a fanboy of the Monster Hunter game franchise. Ironically, this reminds me of a weapon from those games.

my main problem with it is how are you going to use 3 swords? All of them look too heavy to hold with only one hand realistically, and even if you can dual wield them, the third isn't going to stay in the sheath or scabbard on its own.
Other than that, this is quite a good piece. The reason some of the ratings dont reflect that is just the nature of the rating categories. It doesn't have much impact because it isn't supposed to invoke emotion, it's just a sketch of a sword. There isn't a vision, because it isn't supposed to tell a story, it's a sword.

Honestly, as a simple design of a sword, it does all that it needs to, and I think it deserves a 4/5 for what it is.
